The Happyness Lifestyle
A publishing house needed a home that reads like its books.
What we do for The Happyness Lifestyle
The Happyness Lifestyle is an author, speaker and community project of LTU Publishing in Columbus, Georgia. Books, a podcast, live speaking and a running body of writing, all of it built around one idea: that happiness is a practice rather than a destination. We designed and built the website, moved it off its old host, and launched it in July 2026.
A body of work needed somewhere to live
Most author websites are a book cover, a buy button and a biography. That works if the book is the whole business. Here it is not. There is a podcast, a running series of musings, live speaking, and a community that already reads regularly. The book is one door into the work, not the work itself.
So the build started from a different question. Not “how do we sell the book,” but “where does someone go after the book.” That answer shapes the whole structure: books, podcast, musings, speaking and community each get a real page rather than a section on a scrolling homepage, because each one is a genuine path someone might take.
What we built
Nine pages, launched in July 2026. The homepage carries the idea and points at the rest. Books, podcast and musings hold the work. Speaking exists because speaking is a real revenue line and a booking inquiry should not have to go looking for a form. Community is where the readers already are.
The contact page does one job properly. It asks for a name, an email, an optional phone number, what the inquiry is actually about, and the message. Nothing more. The inquiry type matters because a speaking request and a podcast pitch need different answers, and knowing which one arrived before opening the email saves a day.
The parts nobody sees, which are the parts that last
Every page carries its own search title, description and social preview image, so a link shared anywhere renders as something worth clicking rather than a bare URL. That is a small amount of work at launch and effectively impossible to retrofit across a site once it has grown.
The site also launched consent-first. Analytics and advertising scripts are blocked until a visitor agrees to them. Not disclosed after the fact, not set and then apologised for: blocked, and released only on a real yes. Rejecting is a genuine option and the site behaves identically either way. The privacy policy explains in plain language what is collected and how to change your mind, and there is a control on every page to do exactly that.
Most sites treat privacy as a banner they bolt on afterward. It is easier, and more honest, to build it in at launch.
Where it goes
The site is deliberately unfinished in the way a working site should be. Musings will grow. The podcast will add episodes. Speaking will accumulate proof. The structure was built to absorb all of that without a redesign, which is the actual test of whether a launch was done properly.
Services
Website design and build
Designed and built thehappynesslifestyle.com around the writing: books, podcast, musings, speaking and community, each with room to grow.
Migration and launch
Moved the site onto managed hosting and launched it in July 2026, including the parts nobody sees, like search metadata, social preview images on every page, and a working contact path.
Privacy and analytics
Launched with consent-first analytics. Nothing tracks a visitor until they agree, and the choice is theirs to change on any page.
Hosting and web management
Ongoing hosting, updates and the day-to-day changes an active author needs.
What our AI platform found
The work is a body of writing first. Books, musings and a podcast all feed the same idea, so the site had to make the writing findable rather than bury it under a shop.
Speaking is a real revenue line, not a footnote, which is why it gets its own page and its own path to an inquiry.
Community is the point rather than a marketing tactic. The audience already exists and reads regularly; the site exists to hold them, not to convert strangers.
A project of LTU Publishing, so the site carries a publisher's credibility while sounding like one person talking.
